Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 restrictions, many of our pupils have not been able to attend school regularly for a number of months. We appreciate that many of these pupils will be anxious or unsure about returning to school after so long away from us.
Some of the Maidensbridge children have written about their experiences of returning to school in June/July as a way of supporting the return of their fellow pupils.
When I went back it wasn't normal and we had to stay in our bubbles and follow a one way system. The teachers talked to us about it and made us feel happy about everything. After I got used to it it was fun being back with my friends. I am looking forward to being back at school on Thursday.

“I was a little bit scared to start with but it was great to see my friends. By the end of my first day back I was happy. The one way systems were a little bit confusing but the teachers told us everything about them and helped me figure it out.”

“I’ve been going to school a few days a week pretty much since the start of lockdown. It hasn’t really changed too much. You just have to follow a one-way system and there are stickers to follow on the floor. You can’t use the equipment at play time, you have to social distance and not hug friends. We wash our hands when we go in to school and at break times and before and after lunch and before we go home. The teachers help you to remember the rules. It’s strange at the start but you will get used to it.”
