KS2 Theatre Trip to Alice in Wonderland - blog by Matilda Rousell

Yesterday, I visited the old Rep in Birmingham. It was an amazing and magical experience and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

First we had an early lunch at school. Soon after, we were sat on the coach and were enjoying the company of our friends. After about 45 minutes we arrived at the Rep theatre (which was filled with eager children awaiting to watch the entrancing and exciting show). We were then seated on the soft, red velvet seats which were as comfy as a cushion. Suddenly the White rabbit sprang from behind the curtains and ran around crazily like a chicken and started giving out fist bumps and high fives. Then all was silent: the show had begun! Alice walked on the stage joyfully and was talking about how books with no pictures were so boring, so her sister told her to use her imagination....

The show was so amusing and entertaining I loved it so much. My favourite part was when Alice was having tea with the mad hatter and when she was about to pour some tea into the tea cup he said "I want a clean cup" and when they moved along they sang a funny song. Over all, I thought it was an awesome performance.

Year 5 Street Dance

Still image for this video
We have been perfecting our groovy moves in our street dance sessions this term in P.E. We have learnt how to count in beats of eight and have created our own sequences using the moves that we have learnt. Can you see how we can dance in unison as well as following on from each other in a cannon? We hope you enjoy watching our performances as much as we did creating them! Let’s get ready to rhumble...

Worcester Warriors Rugby Coaching

Year 5 are currently enjoying tag rugby sessions which are being led by Matt Jones, a coach from Worcester Warriors. We are using our skills to play the game tactically and are looking forward to playing in the Dudley schools' tag rugby tournament, as well as our own inter-house competition within school. We have learnt a lot and are really 'trying' our best!
